Alec Aaltonen is a Program Manager at the Hawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance. Alec joined Hawkamah from HSBC Global Asset Management in London, where he was Corporate Governance Analyst. In this role, he engaged with the boards of the companies HSBC had equity stakes to analyse their corporate governance practices. He also prepared voting instructions for HSBC shareholders at the general meetings of these companies. Prior to HSBC, he worked for a corporate governance consultancy in London as a Corporate Governance Executive. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in International Relations, a Graduate Diploma in Law and a Master's degree in International Commercial Law.
