The business case for corporate governance is developed through practical research and a concerted effort particularly by the academic and practitioner communities to document the positive effects of good corporate governance practices. However, most of the research on corporate governance has primarily focused on markets other than the Middle East and North Africa. In its efforts to fill the corporate governance information gap in the region, Hawkamah has launched a four-part academic programme designed to produce more research on corporate governance in the region and address a new generation of business leaders by reaching out to universities and academics.
