Symposium on Insolvency Laws and Creditor- Rights Systems
May 26-27, 2009 - Abu Dhabi, UAE

Effective insolvency systems are critical for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to navigate the challenges caused by the increasingly global financial crisis. In the wake of the crisis, bankers and financiers, insolvency professionals, work-out specialists, accountants and business leaders alike have emphasised the need for modern and comprehensive bankruptcy laws and insolvency regimes in the GCC and the wider MENA region. Sound insolvency systems facilitate the orderly exit of insolvent corporations and efficiently reallocate resources, thereby minimizing the overall economic and financial costs of restructuring and insolvency.
