Corporate governance practitioners, drivers and regulators from the region and further afield, will gather in Dubai for the second annual Hawkamah Conference. Last year's conference brought together over 300 market players and issued the Dubai Declaration, which charted the corporate governance reform agenda for the Middle East and North Africa.
The full-day conference, held with the support of
OECD, World Bank and IFC among others, will be part of a week of financial conferences, DIFCweek, designed to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and the rest of the world.
The event is designed to promote knowledge transfer and the development of sound and efficient financial markets and banking systems, and help shape the changing corporate governance landscape in the MENA region.
The Hawkamah Conference will focus on the key issues of corporate governance, including sessions on the following:
- International trends on corporate governance for financial market stability and increased investor confidence
- Corporate governance in the MENA financial markets, including emerging trends and opportunities
