Dr Adnan Soufi has been Managing Director of the Financial Investments Group, SEDCO since May 2006. He is also a member of the company's Executive Committee. As the Managing Director of the Financial Investment Group, he is responsible for Public & Private Equity Investment Programs, forming strategic alliances with international financial institutions, developing and introducing new Shari'ah compliant financial products, and so on. Dr Soufi's association with SEDCO goes back to 1991 when he started as an Assistant General Manager; in 1998 he was appointed as the Senior Vice President of the Direct Investments Group, and served as an Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of SEDCO from 1999-2006. He also served as a board member of several organisations.

Previously, Dr Soufi was Professor of Finance and International Business from 1984-2006 at King Abdul Aziz University (KAU) in Jeddah, and was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration from 1995-1998. He was also a Senior Associate Member of Oxford University's St. Antony's College in 2005. He is a Fulbright scholar, who holds a PhD in Business Administration from the George Washington University, and received his BS in Electrical Engineering, and MBA in Finance from the Seattle University.
