|WHEN||March 26, 2019 @ 9:00 am - March 26, 2019 2:00 pm|
In partnership with the Rami Makhzoumi Initiaitve on Corporate Governance of the Olayan School of Business, American University of Beirut
The concepts of sustainability, governance, and philanthropy are common in today’s business language. However, the concept sometimes overlap in the minds of directors and senior executives. This event is to explain the meaning of sustainability using its key elements: environment, social and governance. It will highlight why companies care about ESG and how sustainability affect investment decisions. Evidence will be shared based on Hawkamah-S&P MENA ESG index.
The event will also shed light on the concept of philanthropy, or what many companies in the region call "Corporate Social Responsibility” and how companies can establish good, well-governed, CSR systems that produce results while maintain the integrity of the company.
