Hawkamah Institute recently announced a partnership with ICSA, The Governance Institute, to work with regional governance professionals take the next level of their career and pursue a certification through ICSA.
The Foundation Programme is the starting point of your journey to becoming a chartered governance professional and comprises of four modules covering the whole subjects:
- Business Environment – how businesses are organized and run and how the external environment affects business activities
- Introduction to Law – an introduction to corporate and business (commercial) law and the legal framework within which businesses operate—primarily UK company law focused
- Principles of Company Compliance and Administration – introducing legal, ownership and management structures for companies, how companies are incorporated and routine company compliance and governance obligations
- Introduction to Finance and Law – the basics of bookkeeping and how to understand the components of financial documentation as well as the principles of financial decision-making.
The programme requires 150-200 hours of study for the course as well as a 3-hour assessment with 15 minutes of reading. Assessments are usually offered twice a year—in June and in November.
