Around the world, the role of the board is evolving in response to corporate governance objectives. In the Middle East, businesses are seeking to achieve a fine balance between policing and partnering, as family-owned businesses transform themselves into public corporations. Businesses are also keen to empower boards and clarify their roles in the organisation.
Concurrently, members of the board must be adapted with the principles of risk management, compliance, succession planning and good governance. Directors are responsible for maximizing shareholder value, managing corporate conflicts, ensuring that the company acts in a socially responsible manner, and safeguarding the interests of the company and its stakeholders.
To support its members in developing their skills in these areas, Hawkamah has designed several unique programs, including: Director Development Program.
Hawkamah offers a range of customized education and training in affiliation with its partner institutes.
A program that lays the foundation for training and education of Board Members and Directors in the region. For further details on this, please refer below courses and its outline.
Commencing with the Director Development Program, Hawkamah offers several courses that meet training needs in specialist areas, and address specific needs such as those earmarked exclusively for chairpersons, government entities, and family-owned businesses.
The Director Development Program course consists of 4 parts, 2-day Workshops with online tests at the end of each workshop and receive participation certificate. Attendees who pass all the four parts will receive the 'Professional Directorship Certificate' from the institute.
Candidates are required to take "Introduction to Corporate Governance" workshop prior to attending the rest of the programme
