Partnering with Hawkamah
“A key partner in efforts to raise awareness is an informed media, one that is well-versed in the nuances of business and corporate governance reporting.” Regional Corporate Governance Forum Conference Reports – CIPE We recognise that the media and academia both have vital roles to play in the raising awareness of, and building capacity for, corporate governance and, as such, are keen for both media and academia to engage with us.
Media
One of our aims is to further assist the development of economic and financial journalism in the region by fostering an increased understanding of the concept of corporate governance. As an institution, the media has an important role to play in informing and educating the marketplace, and so allowing the market to make considered, sound decisions. With clearer, more accurate, relevant, and acute analysis of information at their disposal, international and institutional investors, as well as a growing sophisticated class of investors in the region, will be able to better manage their investment risks.
Universities
Similarly, we are working to assist universities in the implementation of corporate governance programmes that are relevant both to the region, and the wider world, into their curricula. Working with professors and researchers, we are involved in an ongoing programme to develop content and increase the body of knowledge through research and publication, case studies and seminars.
